Special dates
Close a date or a range of dates, give it different hours, or cap how many guests can be seated at once, for example for a public holiday or a private event.
Owner and managerA special date overrides your normal hours for one day or a range of days. It lives in the Special dates card under Settings, Service hours & turn times. Only owners and managers can change it.
Add a special date
- Go to Settings, then Service hours & turn times, and find the Special dates card.
- Pick the date. It must be today or in the future.
- To cover several days in a row, for example a holiday closure, tick "Multiple days" and pick the last day too. Every day in between gets the same settings, up to 366 days at once.
- Choose the scope: "Whole venue" or one section.
- Choose what happens: "Closed", or "Open with effects".
- For "Open with effects", you can tick "Custom hours" (set an open and close time, close after open) and "Limit capacity" (a maximum number of guests seated at once).
- Optionally add a Label. It is for your team only, up to 100 characters.
- Optionally add a "Message shown to guests", up to 280 characters.
- Choose "Add date" (or "Add dates" for a range).
Note: The guest message only works on whole-venue dates that are closed or have custom hours. It is not accepted on a section date or a capacity-only date.
Change or remove one
- Adding the same date and scope again updates the existing entry in place. A range replaces any days inside it that already had a special date for the same scope.
- Days in a row with the same settings show as one entry, such as 1 Dec to 31 Dec. Removing it removes every day in that entry.
- Use "Remove special date" to go back to normal hours for that day or range.
- Closing dates does not cancel bookings already made on them. Check the book for those dates and move or cancel them yourself.
